Duct Cleaning
No matter what type of HVAC system you have, we can probably clean it, and we'll tell you if we can't. Homes that have main duct trunks concealed by drywall or plaster basement ceilings will require an inspection prior to cleaning. We will need to determine if the system is accessible for a thorough cleaning. For us, cleaning part of a system is not an option; all of the ductwork must be cleaned to provide you with the benefit you expect - a clean healthy system.
All HVAC systems are not created equal; while some systems can be cleaned by manual entry or contact cleaning, most can not. Flexible duct, small diameter duct, and ductwork concealed in floors, walls, and ceilings is impossible to clean without the proper equipment. Presque Isle Powerclean uses equipment specifically designed for HVAC system cleaning. Our high-velocity negative-pressure vacuums used in combination with powerful air-compressors and compressed-air cleaning tools, allow us to access and thoroughly clean areas that would be left untouched by other methods. Our equipment remains outside, and all of the contaminates removed from your system are collected outdoors. We also have one of the industry's most powerful HEPA-filtration vacuums for large multi-level buildings where an outside vacuum would be impractical. Only the best equipment and methods are used to provide you with an efficient and effective cleaning. If other types of equipment could provide a more thorough cleaning we would own it.
The people at Presque Isle Powerclean are the most experienced professionals in the Erie area. HVAC system cleaning is our business - not a sideline or part-time additional service. Our supervisors and technicians take pride in consistently providing a high quality service that you can depend on and benefit from.

So Whats The Difference?
The goal of air duct cleaning is to remove the accumulated dirt, debris and other contaminates found in your HVAC system. We clean the entire HVAC system, which includes the supply and return ductwork and plenums, air-handler heat exchanger, AC coil, blower assembly and filter cabinet (every part of the system that air flows through).
The primary short coming of small portable duct cleaning systems is the inability to put the ductwork under proper negative pressure. Negative pressure is important so the contaminates that are dislodged during cleaning do not escape through the cracks and seams of the ductwork into the home or building's occupied space. All of our vacuums maintain negative pressure in the ductwork. In parts of the country with high humidity, proper negative pressure is especially important to prevent any microbial (mold, mildew, etc) contamination in the HVAC system from escaping into the home or building space.
Our equipment consists of powerful vacuum collection systems (from 5,000 cfm, and up to 10,000 cfm used in tandem), large capacity air-compressors (175 psi) and specialized cleaning tools (compressed air snakes, brushes/air washing/whips, HEPA vacuums, etc). The vacuum is connected to the ductwork and keeps it under negative pressure. Once the system is under vacuum, we use compressed-air powered tools to dislodge contaminates from the ductwork, while the vacuum pulls and collects the dirt outside. Our compressed-air "snakes" allow us to access and clean all areas of the system - much of which could never be reached by a vacuum hose. Again, If any other equipment could provide a more thorough cleaning we would own it.
